How was your Twenty Ten? Mine was pretty sweet. I started a website, got an internship and now you’re reading what I write. Badass eh? But, this year hasn’t been all candies and rainbows. A few people got stuck thousands of feet under the earth’s surface, a massive quake rocked Haiti and we found out the world’s governments are corrupt jerks.
Besides the good and the bad of 2010, we all know one thing, 2011 will be worse. You really think 2011 will be better than this year? The apocalypse is less than two years away now. Things don’t get better before the end of the world. Come 12/21/2012 so many diplomatic cables will have been released, government will be in anarchy. Australia will be sunken miles under the ocean, Mexican drug lords will reign supreme over our entire planet and all of the glass on earth will unexplainably melt. I don’t really know if the glass will melt, but wouldn’t that be such a cool apocalyptic thing to happen?
Aside from man-kind’s demise, good things can happen this year. If you’re in my lovely city of Austin, Texas: my friend is throwing a celebration of the arts south of Town Lake on the 8th of this month. If you’re not in Austin…Come to Austin. We have so much fun stuff to do here! (Also in 2011, I encourage everyone to watch all 6 seasons of LOST. In a row. Let me know if you would like to do this with me.)
All the other data-visualization sites are listing their top infographics of the year, so here are mine:
