Brain Injury Explained

Brain injuries are very common in society. It is a smart idea to keep yourself educated on the subject, as many minor brain injuries are looked over at the time of the incident. Dizziness, sleeping problems, and blurred vision are some symptoms of a minor brain injury, but just be happy it isn’t a major one.

In the UK, 50% of all serious brain injuries happen on the road. Motorcyclists, pedestrians and bike riders account for some of the least protected citizens. Campaigns about looking twice for motorcyclists and ‘sharing the road’ with cyclists are all about slowing the instances of traumatic injuries on the highway.

As we all know, cycling has become a more popular mode of transportation across the globe since the economic collapse. And with a rise in cycling, comes a rise in vehicle-bike collisions. In the last three years, there’s been an 11% increase in death or serious injury in cycling accidents. Problems for those with a traumatic brain injury include, unrelenting headaches, seizures, paralysis, and coma.

Next time you’re running late, but stuck behind a wanna-be Lance Armstrong, let them have the road. They have a lot more money on the table than you.
