If you’re anything like me then you may have this sneaking suspicion in the back of your mind that you are signing away all of your rights each time you click the “I agree to the terms of service” button. The truth is, there is no way to read the terms of service for every piece of app or software you use.
We took a look at many of the most popular online services and calculated how much time it would take to actually read their terms and services.

Most of these clock in at right around 30 minutes. For reference, the US Constitution takes about 18 minutes to read. Microsoft’s terms of service will take you a whopping 1 hour to read from start to finish.
Luckily the terms of service of many of these companies have been examined regularly as they are being put into action more frequently in recent years. Without actually reading the terms, you will have a good idea of what is and isn’t allowed on these platforms by staying informed with the news and media outlets.
So instead of spending the weekend brushing up on the latest terms of service agreements, sip on a warm coffee and and crack open a good book instead. You deserve it!
