5 Easy Tips To Improve Your Public Speaking

how to be a better presenter

Does the thought of giving a presentation make you want to run away and hide? Or do you get excited at the thought of presenting in front of an audience?

Public speaking is one of the most common phobias, but it’s also one that everybody will have to face at one point or another. Even if you have to give presentations regularly, you may find yourself feeling a bit nervous about “the big one” coming up or about facing a larger crowd than usual. Basically, no matter what your skill level is when it comes to presenting, we could all use more practice and tips on how to be better.

Sometimes, when nervousness overcomes us during a presentation, it can be really difficult to do one of the most important things: showing your genuine thoughts and passions. Showing enthusiasm for what you’re presenting (even if you have to fake it at first) is key to getting the audience engaged too. This not only makes for a more convincing speech but a much more interesting one too.

Something else you can do to make your presentation more interesting is to choose good corresponding images to go along with your topic. This could be a chart with statistics or a visual example of what you’re talking about.

It takes practice to become a good public speaker, but (like with most things) just remember that confidence is key.
