A Caffeine Addict’s Ultimate Guide To Coffee

Coffee is a delicious way to start the day and get your energy up. For many people, it’s even the highlight of their morning. However, it can also lead to a steady drip of cash leaving your wallet as you stop by your favorite coffee shop every day (twice a day? You do you.) You may be thinking that it’s time to start making your own coffee–well, here’s how.

It’s clear that coffee has taken over America, and that means that it’s easier than ever to brew at home. You can go very fancy with a top-of-the-line espresso machine, or buy a simple cafetiere or Bialetti percolator. At this point, you can find ground coffee in any normal grocery store, or you can scour the internet for specialty beans depending on your personal taste.

Once you’ve settled on your ideal ‘baseline’ black coffee, you can start getting creative. For a classic latte, combine 2/3 cup of coffee with 1/3 cup of milk. If cappuccinos are more your style, you’ll need to get a milk frother so that you can combine 1 part espresso, 1 part hot milk, and a layer of foamy steamed milk. If you really want to get creative (hopefully over dessert, and not in the morning), you could even try a carajillo by combining one part espresso with one part hot brandy.
