Bubbling Over: The Buzz on Sparkling Wine

It’s a time honored tradition, ringing in the new year with a glass of bubbly.  Celebrate the end of the year with a bit of celebratory liquid.    If you’re a fan of sparkling beverages, check out this infographic all about it.

Hopefully you don’t call all of bubbly wine champagne.  If you do, you’re like me and probably wrong.  Champagne comes from the Champagne region in France, and only from the Champagne region in France. All other similar drinks are just different variations of sparkling wine. This is a common misconception that consumers make often.

When you store sparkling wine for special occasions, you probably put it in the refrigerator to chill it to perfection. The ideal temperature for the bubbly beverage is between 45 to 48 degrees Fahrenheit. If you want to keep your wine cooler, combine water, ice, and salt into a bucket. This keeps the wine chilled and refreshing. In order to properly serve your sparkling wine, pour the drink into a flute specifically made for Champagne and its sisters.

Wine is the perfect drink for socializing, special events, or just having a good time. You don’t need a special occasion to enjoy a glass of bubbly. Different personality types enjoy different wines, but it doesn’t matter what’s in your glass when you’re drinking with good friends.
