I have a confession to make: I’m not much of a dog person. I don’t mind looking from afar, but once they start licking me, it’s game over.

I can still appreciate cute picture of dogs, though. I love Labrador Retrievers, and they’re apparently the most popular breed in the U.S. While they are good with children, they also are difficult to train and need a long walk or jog daily.

In second place, we have the German shepherd. These dogs are also difficult to train, but they only need to be brushed twice a week and will live for up to 13 years.

Interestingly enough, only a few of the dogs on this list are easy to train. Dachshunds are easy to train and shed minimally, but they aren’t typically good with kids. Yorkshire terriers are also easy to train and only need short walks each day. They can live up to 16 years and only weigh seven pounds, too!

Regardless of whether your favorite dog breed made the list, it’s clear that man’s best friend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Learn more about pet owners by checking out our listicle here.
