The Fine Art Of Dunking Your Cookie

how long you should dunk your cookie or biscuits measured in seconds infographic

Don’t you just hate it when you think you’ve dipped your biscuit in coffee for just the right amount of time, only to discover that it’s too late. Your cookie/biscuit has been over-dunked and is no in the process of sinking to the bottom of your cup of coffee. Or is now a huge soppy mess!  What a bummer! First world problems, I know.

Luckily if you’re really a perfectionist like me, Green Hat has blessed us with this chart, indicating how many seconds are the absolute best for your next dunking decision.

First and foremost, it is good advice to always have a teaspoon ready. You never know when you going to have to pull an emergency rescue operation on a fallen Kit-Kat slab. Dunking with either tea or coffee is the most accepted and common practice, while milk is also an acceptable form of dunking liquid.

It seems that from this information, the best times for dunking are anywhere from say 4 to 6.5 seconds, depending on the type of biscuit chosen. This should give you a good soak, leaving a crispy centered well-soaked and crunchy biscuit. And if you are a budding chef, these substitutes can help you with your next batch of home-baked dunking cookies.
