Is Your Favorite Movie Monster Bigger than Mr. Stay Puft?

Monster Movie Sizes Infographic

If you’re a lover of the Japanese monster franchises, the answer is probably yes. Those folks sure know how to make huge monsters. As a fan of Monster Zero, I’m sad it wasn’t included. Godzilla going to space to fight another monster was really epic, and when he does that victory dance? Elegance incarnate.

The Cloverfield monster is dang huge, but I bet Godzilla could still kick its butt. Godzilla would just lightning screetch it in the face, then bite its spindly arms in half and stomp on all its horrifying babies. Godzilla, he’s not the hero Tokyo deserves, he’s the hero New York needs.

In comparison to the Gamera and Co, the Balrog from The Lord of the Rings seems quite small at 18 feet, but I reckon that’s plenty big enough when you’re made of fire and shadow. For a little more of a Tolkien fix, check out this infographic deconstructing fantasy novels.

There’s one thing this infographic got dead wrong. They gave me an extra 7 inches of height, but I’m not mad about it. I’m going to need every inch I can get if I’ve got to fight all these movie monsters. Hopefully they’ll pick each other off while I cower under a car.
