Super Bowl XLIX By The Numbers

Super Bowl XLIX By The Numbers Infographic

It doesn’t matter if you’re an avid sports fan or just in it for the party, there’s something for everyone on Super Bowl Sunday. Maybe you’re the type who bets on your favorite team, and plans to keep your eyes glued to the game to track your winnings. Or perhaps you’re more interested in seeing Katy Perry at halftime and checking out the year’s commercials. Personally, I’m in it for the food. (I’ll be bringing jalapeno poppers.)

Viewing preferences aside, Super Bowl Sunday is a pretty big deal. The average price of a ticket to the live event costs close to $5,000, and about 171 million people watch the game from home. When it comes to food, more than 14 billion hamburgers and 1.25 billion chicken wings will be consumed at Super Bowl parties. Don’t even get me started on how much a Super Bowl commercial goes for, or how many tweets are sent during the game. If you don’t believe me, check out the facts in today’s infographic.

Whether your team wins or loses, remember to have a good time with your friends tomorrow! I’ll be rooting that no one loses too much money.
