America’s Favorite Christmas Cookies Paired With Beer

Christmas Cookies beer pairings

Oh, the holidays! The only time of the year when eating copious amounts of food and drinking to ease the constant barrage of family visits is socially accepted.  I love seeing my family come together for a few weeks, but I’m not ashamed to say that my favorite holiday tradition is baking to my heart’s content. My holiday plan usually includes tons of cinnamon rolls, cakes, pies, and, of course, dozens and dozens of cookies. Every year I challenge my family to make more than 50 different batches: everything from sugar to shortbread, ginger, and classic chocolate chips. I have to make them all!

I don’t eat them all, of course, but all my neighbors and coworkers know they will be getting their own tin filled to the brim with sweet treats.

I never thought to recommend alcohol pairings with my cookies, but after coming across this infographic, this year my cookies are going to get, ahem, spicy. I’m super excited to have sugar cookies with blond ale, and I’m sure my grandma would faint if she knew about my plans of having her favorite oatmeal raisin cookies with a fitting oatmeal stout. The good thing is, I have all the year to fill my minibar with enough beer to drown an army.
