What Does It Take To Get A Good Night’s Sleep?

Science of Healthy Sleep

Getting a good night’s sleep is something that many undervalue. The amount we get can affect many important factors in our day to day lives.

Today’s infographic highlights the importance of sleep. The amount of sleep we get can affect our well-being, productivity, and health in both positive and negative ways. After all, we do spend a whole third of our lives sleeping. There are so many factors that go into getting good rest. One of these is your mattress. The mattress should be the first thing you look at when trying to get a restful sleep.

Once you start to sleep, you begin to go through the various stages of sleep. You start at stage 1, light sleep, where you’re half awake and half asleep. Slowly, you progress through until you reach stage 4, REM sleep. This occurs about 70-90 minutes after we first fall asleep, with about 3-5 of these episodes per night.

If you have trouble falling asleep, here’s a couple of tips: A warm bath will get your body to the perfect temperature, and relaxation exercise will soothe your body before settling down.

Hopefully what was discussed today is enough to convince you to get a good night’s sleep whenever you can, and if this infographic interested you, be sure to check out our infographic about more in-depth ways to improve your sleep.
