Why You Should Have A Cat Emergency Kit

how to prepare a kit for any emergency that may arise with your cat

For the most part, cats are a very easy pet to care for. Although they can seem finicky at times, they are very resilient creatures. However, if you’re a pet owner, you know how important it is to be prepared if and when an emergency does arise.

One of the best things you can do for your cat is to get a microchip for them. This ensures that they are able to be found and returned to you if they ever get lost, even if they don’t have a collar on. The paperwork for the microchip is one of the things you’ll want to keep in your emergency kit. This has the information on it, including the code unique to your pet that makes it traceable.

If your cat has any medications, you can ask your vet for an extra bottle in case you run out or you go on vacation and need extras. Of course, it’s not just vet-given medication that you can pack extra too. Their favorite treats, a couple of cans of food, and any flee medicine you might have should also be packed.

Having a cat emergency kit may seem like overkill, but you can never be too prepared when it comes to the safety of your furry friend.
