How To Be A Cyber-Crime Fighter

Cyber-crime is one the rise. Protect yourself with this information

If you’re anything like me, you don’t know very much about cyber-crime. It seems like the shadowy world of secret agents, hackers in their basements, and an alphabet soup of government agencies. Well, that’s not exactly the case. Cyber-crime is all around us, and it’s important that we all learn how to be crime-fighters.

I’m not saying you should put on a mask and a cape, but you need to be aware of the dangers. Cyber-crime comes in many forms. It can be phishing, spear phishing, DDoS attacks, Trojan horses, and much more. Remembering all of the different types of cyber-crime can be a little bit challenging. That’s why this infographic is so useful.

The infographic walks the reader through several different types of cyber-crime without getting bogged down in the official names of each type. You just need to know what to be aware of and what form the danger might take. For example, if you get an email asking for a lot of personal information, you might be the target of a cyber-crime. You should also look for red flags like misspellings and incredibly generic information. Unless your name is “sir or madam,” any email addressed this way should be a red flag. These are just a few of the things you should watch out for.
