What’s Your State’s Sandwich Namesake?

One of the most beloved foods in the country is a good, old-fashioned sandwich. So surely it comes as no surprise to see each state putting their own unique twist on it.

Today’s infographic takes a look at the 50 states and the signature sandwich that originated in that state. This infographic is by no means a completely comprehensive list, and with only one sandwich per state, some sandwiches simply did not make the cut. However, each sandwich depicted in this list is delicious in its own way, so without further ado, allow me to share some of my personal favorites from this list.

The fried chicken biscuit sandwich from Oregon is exactly what it seems like, and then some. This sandwich consists of fried chicken topped with bacon, cheese, gravy, and an egg all sandwiched between two biscuits. This is absolutely unhealthy, but that’s what’s so good about it!

If you’re looking for a great mix of sweet and savory, take a trip to Tennessee for the Elvis. Named after the signature sandwich the late rock-n-roll great made for himself, the Elvis consists of the sweet pairing of bananas and peanut butter combined with the savory crispiness of fried bacon.

These are only two of the 50 mouthwatering sandwiches on today’s infographic, so be sure to check out the rest in case you ever wish to travel and try any of these yourself!
