Why Valuing Corporate Culture Is So Important

Guide to Corporate Culture Mindset

I used to think that corporate culture was a silly, meaningless buzzword, but then after working for a few different firms I began to see the importance. Different companies have different approaches while keeping the happiness of their workers in mind. I used to work a 9-to-5 in a cubicle, among many others, so I personally have a good grasp of what it is all about. Dull, boring work in a cubicle is not all of it, of course. There are company events, Pizza Fridays, and so on. Yet it is very interesting to see and hear about the different cultural ideas at other companies!

For example, the “20%” time at Google sounds like a very cool idea for employees to have one day a week to do anything that interests them! I would’ve loved to read a book or solve interesting puzzles without having the pressure of a result.

Or what about Pixar? Instead of a cubicle, the animators work in a hut! Isn’t that amazing? It would’ve been a much more enjoyable experience for me as well! Cubicles make the workplace seem very dull, at least that’s my view on it. What do you think? Are you ready to talk to your boss about getting a personal hut instead of your desk?
