The State Of The Blogging Industry In 2018

Infographic about the current state of blogging industry and what are the current trends.

It seems like everyone’s launching a blog these days, but blogging has now been around since the 1990s. While the early days were a little bit shaky and uncertain, the blogging industry has managed to become a powerhouse that’s growing at a rapid rate. Today’s infographic focuses on last year, but there’s still a lot to learn.  The U.S. alone has over 30 million bloggers, which captures almost 30 percent of the market. To give you perspective, the next biggest blogging country is the UK with 7 percent of the world’s bloggers.

When blogging first emerged, it was usually a tool used by people with passion projects and hobbies. However, as blogging became ubiquitous, opportunities for revenue arrived. Those who got in early lucked out, as the blogging industry is nearly oversaturated with millions of people competing for sponsorships. But if you do get in the game now, be prepared to spend a lot of time on your website — the average blogger spends more than three hours crafting the perfect post.

And if you’re a business owner who doesn’t have a blog, you may want to reconsider. According to this research, business owners see a 126 percent increase in lead generation if they blog about their industry.
