The Most Iconic Movie Character Transformations

infographic of CGI and makeup in movies

Hamilton may have an exquisite musical score, but can a live play ever show an Optimus Prime vs. Megatron fight as well as a movie can? I think not. Here are some of the best character transformations, makeup or CGI, in the entertainment industry.
The first character on this infographic is Max Schreck’s 1922 portrayal of Count Orlok in Nosferatu: A Symphony Of Horror. Count Orlok seems eerily familiar, and even though I’ve never seen Nosferatu, I recognized him from the Hash Slinging Slasher episode of Spongebob Squarepants. (He was found responsible for flickering the lights during the extra creepy night shift.)

One of my favorite characters on this infographic is Harvey Dent from 2008’s The Dark Knight, played by Aaron Eckhart. With half of Harvey Dent’s face badly burned, it’s not really a mystery why he got the nickname Two Face in the last act of the movie. The special effects for Dent’s burns were shockingly realistic. No one will ever forget the scene Two Face first shows his injuries, turning his head over to reveal a skinless, charred face.

One of the most iconic characters in film history is the Stormtrooper from Star Wars. Though many of us only recognize the vanilla Stormtroopers from the original trilogy, there are actually many more variants of Stormtroopers you probably don’t know about.
