What Doodling Says About Your Personality Type

infographic describes the science behind doodling

Back in high school, there were times I’d find myself doodling as I took notes. It could’ve been anything from an intricate set of eyes to a stick figure. I was always drawing, and I’ve often wondered if there was any meaning behind my sketches.

People who doodle are said to have less stress and reduced negativity. It can also help you retain information better than someone who doesn’t doodle. Doodling allows people to express their creativity while brightening their moods, and it allows the brain to improve its psychological resilience.

Some doodles can even reveal information about your personality. For example, if you like to draw circles, you are loving and honest. If you like to draw cubes or boxes, you are hard-working.  Shapes are generally related to our basic needs for love or survival.

As I mentioned before, I like to draw eyes. Eyes are unique, detailed, and are open to a world of possibilities. Small eyes show signs of an introvert, while big eyes show signs of sensitivity.

Doodling can improve your psychological and emotional states, and it allows you to express yourself. If you don’t doodle, you should give it a go and see how you feel afterwards, and make sure you add some color to your doodle to feel even better.
