The Story Behind Everyday Stuff That Surrounds Us

Infographic about how our everyday stuff came to be.

Sometimes we get caught up in our everyday lives and we forget to stop and think about simple things around us. Stuff like electricity, air travel, computers, and the internet have become integral parts of our lives that we almost never stop to appreciate how important they are for the modern way of living. Just imagine how it would be to live without electricity or indoor plumbing. Spoilers. It would be impossible.

But what do you know about electricity and how it came to be? Did you know that the term, electricity, was coined all the way back in 1570, almost 300 years before Nikola Tesla invented an AC motor and Polyphase power transmission system?

On the other hand, what do you know about cars? Most people probably do know that Karl Benz was the first one to build a modern car back in 1885. But did you know that it wasn’t until 1956 and 1974 that we got our first seatbelts and airbags? Yes, for almost 100 years people were driving extremely unsafe cars. Even the windshield wasn’t a necessary piece of car’s equipment until 1926.

So, if you are at least a little bit interested in learning about the things behind the way we live, then I highly recommend checking out this infographic. Trust me; you won’t be disappointed.
