A Day in the Life of Tech Workers – Los Angeles VS San Francisco

In less than a year, I’ll be graduating with my master’s degree and looking for a full time job. Thanks to all the classes I’ve taken in the past year, I’m hoping to pursue something that combines my love of media and technology. Now that the tough decision is out of the way, I find myself wondering where my job hunt will take me. Technology opportunities are everywhere, but one of the first places that comes to my mind is California.

Both California cities shown in the infographic below are considered to be two of the highest-paying for technology jobs. The average salary for a software engineer in San Francisco is $124,000, while the average in Los Angeles is $98,000. Although both sound highly appealing, it’s important to keep in mind other factors which play into career decisions. For many of us, these factors include the cost of living, how far or time consuming the commute is, what the weather is like, and even what activities are available for unwinding after work.

No matter which city you prefer, each of them have something special to offer. The question is, which would you choose?
