The Perfect Beer Label

Perfect Beer Label

Craft Beers are spreading like wildfire and I can’t be more happy about it. This new industry is brewing up beer snobs left and right, including me. Palate-wrecking IPAs and strong, bold belgians are my weakness. Another plus to the growing industry are the thousands of different designs used to label the beer.

If you haven’t been drinking cheap beer lately, the big guys, Budweiser and Miller, have gone retro bringing back their original can designs. Big beer knows too well the spread of craft brewing is taking a big chunk of their market share. Because craft beer is so tasty, big beer doesn’t advertise the superior taste of their beer much anymore. They focus on ‘drinkability’ and the lite-ness of the beverage.

In Austin, one of our many craft breweries is Austin Beer Works. They have a sleek, modern design that really catches my fancy-not to mention the beer is absolutely delicious. Why stop at craft brewery designs? Home-brewers have taken the next step to beer snobbery by designing and labeling the beer they make in their own garage.

With companies like Whole Foods coming out with their own craft beer selection, I think its safe to say Big Beer is getting nervous. [99Designs]
