White Lasagna Infographic

It has occurred to me — and my bank account — that I eat out at restaurants too much. I don’t know if it’s this time of year, or the fact that the heater in my apartment is broken and makes me not want to do much of anything, except bundle up or escape to warmer hang-outs, but lately I’ve hardly been cooking anything at home. However, today’s infographic inspired me to get back in the kitchen.

The idea behind this graphic is a more simplistic approach to traditional recipes. Take lasagna for example, it’s simple enough to make but if you’ve never made it before, the layering process takes awhile to explain, particularly when you’re reading it from a recipe. Katie Shelly, author and illustrator of the book , noted this fact and made reading a recipe a whole lot easier. In her book, you can simply look at a picture of a deconstructed recipe, instead of pouring over paragraphs of prep explanations on how to make a dish. After all, a picture’s worth a thousand words, right?

The visually inclined can now rejoice! Check out Katie Shelly’s book and the infographic below for a different approach to cooking. [Via]
